Patients are advised to phone to make an appointment, as there is an appointment system. It is open from Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 11.45am and 1.15pm to 4.15 pm.
The NHS contract for dentists which has been in place since April 2006 has a simpler charging arrangement for patients. Children and adult patients who are exempt from paying will continue to receive treatments free.
Always explain to the dentist that you want NHS treatment and always ask your dentist to inform you of treatment needed and its costs before treatment begins. NHS dentists should display a current list of treatment charges. A full NHS service should be available from NHS dentists.
For information on the changes to NHS dental services, read the information for patients leaflet. This also provides information on charges and exemptions.
