MINDFUL EMPLOYER - by employers, for employers

The Swindon MINDFUL EMPLOYER network was formed in February 2008 and is led by the Richmond Fellowship Wiltshire and funded by NHS Swindon.  The project helps employers to tackle problems relating to mental ill health including stress, anxiety and depression which arise in the workplace.
The network meets every few months to discuss mental health and well-being issues and encourage employers to adopt workplace cultures which improve the health of their employees and enhance business performance.

The Swindon MINDFUL EMPLOYER network holds group discussions, training, talks and networking opportunities which encourage its members to share experience and best practice.  The network also promotes the Charter for Employers who are positive about mental health – which is a public demonstration of a supportive and socially responsible employer.
The network held a launch conference in March 2009 with special guest, Professor Cary Cooper and regular special events are planned throughout 2010 and 2011. The group works very closely with local business leaders and media organisations.

The project leader,  David Latham writes a regular "Well-being at Work" blog on the Swindon Advertiser website.  For further details about the MINDFUL EMPLOYER in the UK.
